Members of the largest opposition party in Ghana, the National Democratic Congress have taken to the streets of Ashaiman to demonstrate their displeasure over the declaration of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as President-elect of the Republic of Ghana Instead of John Mahama.
The agreived supporters who were NDC members are angry at the Electoral Commissioner, Madam Jean over for her declaration so they’ve taken to the streets of Ashaiman leading to the burning of car tyres on road.
NDC and their running mate, John Dramani Mahama are not ready to accept the verdict been given by the Electoral Commissioner which declared Akufo-Addo as President-elect.
On Monday 7th December, 2020 the Electoral Commission of Ghana organised the Presidential and Parliamentary elections which saw the Declaration of President Akufo-Addo as President-elect of the Republic of Ghana on 9th December, 2020.
The NDC are not in agreement of the election declaration as they believe strongly that they have won the elections both the Presidential and the Parliamentary one.
Their Presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama has vowed to use all legitimate avenue so that the ‘rigged’ electoral result is overturned.
