Currently a video circulating across the various social media platforms is that of the current Chief Justice, Kwasi Anin-Yeboah who has been allegedly recorded in a throw back video expressing how John Mahama didn’t win the 2012 Presidential elections.
The video is currently trending because Chief Justice Anin-Yeboah is also acting as a Judge against the current Election petition which was led and filed by John Mahama.
Some National Democratic Congress (NDC) sympathizers are claiming that Chief Justice statement in 2012 undermines his credibility and his ability to fairly issue justice without fear or favor.
The alleged video saw the Chief Justice, Kwasi Anin-Yeboah stating emphatically that there is something wrong with 2012 Election results by instigating the fact that there was so many irregularities characterizing the 2012 elections and before the then candidate John Mahama who was also the president does have the 50 +1 to be declared president. The Honorable Judge in his opinion called for a re-run of the 2012 elections.
The Chief Justice is the presiding Judge for John Mahama’s Election petition, already the Supreme Court has declined a request by Mahama’s lawyers to allow Jean Mensa to mount the box for interrogation. Already the Supreme Court has cancelled any possibilities of re-opening the Election petition case by John Mahama’s lawyers which they claim to be unfair.
Kwasi Anin Yeboah was born on May 1953 is a Ghanaian lawyer and the current Chief Justice of Ghana. In December 2019, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo nominated Justice Anin-Yeboah as the Chief Justice of Ghana.
