This article will specifically prove why the current court proceedings is useless and has no benefit to the country, the statement was( court proceedings) not “court system”
It seem Ghanaian have kept mute and certain few individuals have used that opportunity to cheat and waste the state resources. The current court proceedings, that is the election case, that has been filed by the National Democratic Congress over electoral malpractices against the New Patriotic Party is one of the most insignificant thing in the country, after the 2012 election.
You may ask, why is it useless, this is because it will not yield any proper result, nothing positive is going to come out from it. We have seen similar issues and nothing happened, a clear example is the 2012 court case filed by the New Patriotic Party. We talk about democracy, but I always say that, our leaders and some citizens don’t understand the concept of sending your opponent to court after losing election is clear sign of ignorance, for both NPP and NDC, democracy allows the people to be active in politics, that have the right to decide on state issues. Now, irrespective of the kind of leader selected by the people , it’s a reflection of the choice of the people. This is the legal right of the people, opposing their choice is clear indication of how some of our leaders don’t understand the concept of democracy.
We have been in this country where there had been several election petition but ends without any positive feedback, sometimes the state resources used to pay thses lawyers and their allowances could be used beneficially to the development of the country, NDC knows clearly that, they aren’t going to win the court petition but in the name of strategic politics and selfishness, they are pressing up on something which is going to retards the country’s development.
Ghanaian leaders are good and eloquent in speaking good english but cannot speak good leadership, they rather use the little revenue to organize mere committees and other insignificance sectors. As we know, Ghana is ruled by two entities, NPP AND NDC. these two parties have ruled since the 1992 constitution and if they will continue to rule, there must be scrutiny in how the state resources are distributed.
