‘I will accept a goat as a gift’ – Chief Justice Anin-Yeboah, Check reason..

Ghana’s Chief Justice, Kwasi Anin-Yeboah has indicated in a trending video currently that he will accept goat as a gift if he is given one from a friend based on a cultural point of view. The Chief Justice during his vetting at parliament indicated that he will accept a goat as a gift from what he explained as cultural point of view.

The Chief Justice who was vetted on 23rd December, 2019 told the Vetting Committee that we all know the kind of Ghanaian society we are coming from where ‘Ama knows Kofi’ and therefore if it is a festive season and a friend decide to gift being it a goat or any other thing, he will definitely accept it as cited by Ghanaontheglobe.com.

But he indicated that such gifts cannot influence any decision at the Court of Justice because it is impossible for him as a judge to be influenced by such gifts from friends.

Justice Kwasi Anin-Yeboah made it clear that apart from that cultural gifts from friends that he will accept, he is very cautious of any other gifts especially from corporate organizations who’s actions are suspicious. Apart from gifts from friends that he may accept it from cultural point of view he won’t accept any other gift.

The Knowledgeable Chief Justice cited Member Parliament for Akwatia, Mubarak Muntaka and other MP’s at the vetting that since they are friends, he will accept a gift from them if they give him but won’t affect his justice.

President Akufo-Addo in 2019 appointed Justice Kwasi Anin-Yeboah as Chief Justice.
