16 feared dead, several others injured in a road accident at Akyem Asafo

A deadly road accident at Akyem Asafo in the Eastern Region of Ghana is feared to have killed sixteen (16) people with many others injured and still counting.

The road accident involved two cars, one been VIP tour bus and another car which was trying to overtake the bus and led to the collision on the Akyem Asafo road after they where reported moving in a high speed leading to this unfortunate incident.

According to Ghanaontheglobe.com sources at the scene the accident occured between the late hours of last night getting  to  the early morning of today. The area is considered as an accident prone area.

Already the National Ambulance Service have deposited the dead remains at the mortuary with the injured taken to the hospital. Already members of the area who gathered at the accident scene where shocked and surprised over the loss of life.

Asafo-Akyem is a town in the Eastern Region of Ghana. The town was the initial place where Abuakwa State College was established before it was moved to its permanent place in Kibi.
