Essien looses 1 million Twitter followers after endorsing LGBT in Ghana

One of Ghana’s all-time best players and former Chelsea FC player has shocking lost over one million followers on his Twitter handle after endorsing LGBT in Ghana.

Ghanaontheglobe.com cited that  Michael Essien was having over 1.7 million followers on his Twitter handle but now it has reduced to 688,000 followers and it keeps reducing .

Michael Essien endorsed LGBT in Ghana by starting clearly that Ghana stands for equality and therefore he endorses LGBT in the country.

After making such post on instagram, almost one million fans who where following him on Twitter have unfollowed him over his stand. Even though he has deleted the post on his Instagram handle but most Ghanaians are still criticizing him for making such endorsement.

Micheal Essien has lost close to a million followers on Twitter after the Ex Ghana Footballer pledged his support for LGBT in Ghana and most personalities across the world are surprised.

Michael Essien in a post he shared on his Instagram handle said “We see you, we hear you, we support you. Our LGBTQIA plus Community in Ghana,” indicating that Ghana supports equality.

The President of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at a Methodist ceremony indicated that he will not legalize same sex marriage in the country.

“I have said this before, let me in conclusion stress again, that it will not be under the presidency of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo that same-sex marriage will be legal, that same-sex marriage will be legalized in Ghana, it will never happen in my time as President.”

Most Ghanaians have subjected the ex-football star to insults and cyber bullying and have unfollowed him on his various social media handles.
