There is certainly no way anyone can mention the top five biggest artistes in Africa for the past decade without the mention of Africa’s most decorated rapper, Sarkodie.
Most people have wondered why Sarkodie has been able to stay consistent to the music business even though most of his peers he started with both in Ghana and the rest of the African continent are no where to be found music wise.
From becoming the first African rapper to win a Black Entertainment Award(BET) for ‘Best African Act’ in 2012 to becoming the second most awarded African artiste is simply marvelous.
Seven years later after 2012 BET award, Sarkodie managed to bag the first ever BET Hip-hop award for ‘Best International Flow.’
With most people wondering what still keeps Sarkodie going after almost achieving everything in the rap game, a 2014 throwback interview cited by Ghanaontheglobe.com saw the rapper revealing what can make him quit music.
In an interview with Ashley Daniels, Sarkodie revealed that the only thing that could have made him quit music is if he was not dope. He told Ashley to check his music and get back to him, ‘ I don’t know if you gonna have the time but if you have the time you can check my music out on the internet and call me back if you don’t like it, am going to stop doing music….” – Sarkodie said.
