Sarkodie doesn’t need an International collaboration to prove his legendary status

Spread the love

It is very weird how some Ghanaian fanatics want to undermine the hard-work of a prestigious artiste like Sarkodie on the basis that he need to do an international collaboration to solidify his legendary status.

Sarkodie at this point in his career can be compared to most of the American and Western big artistes you can mention. Monetary wise they can be richer than Sarkodie but talentwise he is equal to them.

It is high time as blacks we appreciate our talents, imagine somebody like Sarkodie independently has solely financed his music for over fourteen(14) years since 2007 and achieved unimaginable worldwide prestige.

It is not easy for an African rapper like Sarkodie to be able to remain consistent for over a decade in this catastrophic industry, apart from his consistency Sarkodie has individually won hundred(100) awards from over hundred and seventy(170) nominations worldwide.

Before you compare any foreign artiste to Sarkodie, ask yourself would they have survived in Ghana or Africa as a whole in this hazardous music industry where the system is not working. We are in a country where having a phone with enough data is a prestige because of the cost factor, so ask yourself how can ordinary fans pay money to buy music from our artistes on music platforms for them to get money?

Most Ghanaians and Africans as a whole put unnecessary pressure on our artiste in other for the west to accept our music. Sarkodie does not need any western endorsement to prove he is a legend, if they love him for who he is then that is cool but if not there is no need to compromise on his conviction for western satisfaction.
