Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Honorable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has resigned from Appointments Committee of Parliament.
According to Ghanaontheglobe.com verified information the MP has stepped down from the Appointment Committee of parliament, he has indicated his decision to step down is based on a matter principle and personal reasons.
Members of the National Democratic Congress have accused it leadership of taking money from the ruling Akufo-Addo led government in exchange of approval of his Ministers.
The Appointment Committee which includes NDC MPs unanimously approved all the substantive and Regional Ministers which didn’t go well with their members including their National Communications officer, Sammy Gyamfi.
Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has indicated that he will not be part of the committee to vet the deputy Ministers. A release signed by himself states,

” I humbly present comradely felicitations. This is to formally convey my decision to discontinue my membership of the AppointmentsCommittee after days of careful reflection and thoughtful considerations.
I shall like to state that the reasons for this difficult decision are both personal and on
principle. Respectfully, do take note that my resignation is with immediate effect and therefore I shall not be available for the vetting of nominees for Deputy Ministerial positions.
May I extend to you, leadership of the House, the Committee of Selection and
Leadership of the great National Democratic Congress, my sincere gratitude for the
opportunity to serve as a member of the Appointments Committee in the 6th, 7th and 8th Parliaments of the Republic of Ghana.
