I Met My Wife In A Trotro, I Was A Mate- First Deputy Speaker Of Parliament

The first speaker of Parliament, Hon Joseph Osei Owusu, popularly known as Joe Wise, has recounted his life story on how he met his wife.

With an interview with Joy News, he recalled how fascinating it was when he realized he was in love.

He said “I was the mate and she was seating in front of me, I wanted to talk to her but I was shy”

“I was a driver’s mate after 6th Form for almost 8 months. After 6th Form we were home, we were supposed to have gotten admission into the university. I filled my form, we were supposed to go to the university on 24th October then we heard the announcement that the reopening had been postponed indefinitely.

“Because of that, I have to assist my father in his car, he was a trotro driver who goes on long distant, especially from Accra to Kumasi or vise versa”

“So through that I met my wife, she was going to school, her was at Cape Coast but the bridge to almost where her school has collapsed so she had to pass through the Obuasi road and connect to Dompose”

“She started a conversation with a mechanic travelling with us and she was able to express her thoughts well. So I joined in the conversation and asked of her name. She said she was going to school here. That’s how we became friends and continued,” he stated.
