Multiple award-winning rapper, Michael Owusu Addo popularly known as Sarkodie, has responded to organizations mounting pressure on him to apologize for smoking.
As Ghanaontheglobe.com reported, before Sarkodie released ‘No Pressure’ album, he posted photos holding and smoking cigar which trended across.
Replying to those organizations asking him to apologize, Sarkodie questioned who he should apologize to when speaking to Andy Dosty on Hitz Fm and added that It’s quite disrespectful for those organizations asking him to apologize.
He explained that cigar signifies celebration and he only used it as an entertainer to tell a story of victory or achievement.
Sarkodie admitted that smoking has health implications but added that those organization should not have waited for him to smoke before starting their advocacy.
Sarkodie again stated that they could have even reached out to him for them to launch a campaign against the bad effect of smoking.
