The acting University of Ghana Student Representative Council President, Kwame Amo Ntow Fiankor has been cautioned that he can’t swear in the new executives because of an injunction at Accra High Court.
The Vice Chancellor, Dean of Student Affairs, Acting UGSRC President among others have been sued by the winner of the runoff elections Prince Asumadu after Samuel Amos Ofosu was declared president elect in another elections at Akuafo and Sarbah Hall.
The release was signed by the registrar, it state,
“The attention of University Management has been drawn to a notice purportedly signed by you, as 63rd UGSRC President/SRC Execom Chairperson announcing among others that “the SRC has initiated processes to handover the reigns of government of the undergraduate student front to the next batch of executives”, and that “the transition teams of both the incoming and outgoing administration have been scheduled to meet to iron out the fine details of the imminent handing over ceremony.”
“Management wishes to remind you of the writ of summons and statement of claim filed in the High Court concerning the outcome of the election, as well as an application for interlocutory injunction prohibiting the swearing in or causing to be sworn in any other person besides the Plaintiff as President of the SRC of the University.
“Management is mindful of the consequences of any such attempt by you and your team and wishes to draw your attention to the pending suit.
Kindly take note and be guided accordingly. ”
