Ghana’s 23rd Inspector General Of Police, George Akuffo Dampare has become the talk of town after his interim appointment on 1st August, 2021 and subsequently appointment as main IGP on 8th October 2021.
Months later many Ghanaians like his reign as IGP based on his hardwork, proactiveness to crime and community engagement been felt across the length and breadth of Ghana.
From community to community engagement, enforced regulations, key arrest, CCTV camera placement in key parts of Accra, many Ghanaians are of the view that Dampare has made Ghana safer.
2024 Presidential Elections seems far but in reality it’s very close, with the likes of John Mahama(NDC), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia (NPP), Alan Kyeremanteng(NPP) all keen to lead the country, the coming Presidential election will not be a joke.
Many are calling for a third force to ensure a check on NPP and NDC so that it won’t be like a rubber stump for the two dominant parties during election 2024.
Can the current IGP George Akuffo Dampare be a third force? Some Ghanaians are of the view that Dampare can be a Productive President considering his success few months as IGP.

Biography of IGP GEORGE AKUFFO DAMPARE
Dr. George Akuffo Dampare joined the Ghana Police Service (GPS) as a Constable in December 1990 at age 20 and rose through the ranks to become Commissioner of Police (COP) 24 years later at age 44 in 2014.
In 1991, on completion of his recruit training, Dr. Dampare was adjudged the overall Best Recruit at the National Police Training School and won all awards except the award for the ‘Best Marksman’. Again in 1996, he emerged as the overall Best Cadet for the 32nd Cadet Officers’ Course at the Ghana Police Academy (formerly, Police College) and won all awards, including Excellence in Professional Police Subjects and Excellence in Academic Subjects.
