Kwame Amo Ntow Fiankor and other members who breached the University of Ghana regulations to swear in Amos Ofosu Ampofo and Alfred Acquah as UGSRC President and Vice President are set to face the Disciplinary Committee for Junior Members.
This comes after Kwame Amo Ntow disregarded Management’s caution not to proceed with the swearing in over a court Injunction as cited by Ghanaontheglobe.com .
The swearing in has been regarded as null and void by the University of Ghana Academic Board and therefore Stephanie Naadu Antwi will act as interim UGSRC President.
We reject and don’t recognize newly sworn in UGSRC President – UG Academic Board
The University of Ghana Academic Board has bemoan the fact that they do not recognize the UGSRC swearing in ceremony and have unreservedly rejected Samuel Amos Ofosu and Alfred Acquah as new SRC President and Vice President respectively.
In a release cited by Ghana’s most authoritative online news portal, Ghanaontheglobe.com, the Academic Board of University of Ghana has denounced the ceremony and it’s executive which was led by Ag. Kwame Amo Ntow Fiankor.
This was after an emergency meeting organized by the Academic Board on Monday, December 27, 2021.
The Board has further directed that the newly elected SRC Secretary and Treasure who are legally elected will be dully sworn in and act as interim President and Vice President.
The swearing in ceremony is supposed to take place at least before 31st December, 2021.
The Board also revealed that in other to have a complete Execom(Executive Committee of the SRC) the Chair of SRC Information and Publication Committee should act as SRC Secretary and also the Chair of SRC Finance committee should act as the SRC treasure in accordance with article 24 (8c and d) of the SRC constitution.
The Dean of Student Affairs will supervise the above mentioned directives.
