The leadership of Political Science Students’ Association University of Ghana (POSSA UG) has ordered for the immediate suspension of the newly sworn in President and Vice President of University of Ghana Student Representative Council(UGSRC) in person of Samuel Amos Ofosu and Alfred Acquah respectively.
The release which was signed by POSSA UG President Stephen Awuah-Pobi admonished the fact that what the Ag. SRC President Kwame Amo Ntow Fiankor did was illegal and illegitimate.
They also expressed their shock over the Ag. SRC President decision not to accept management’s suggestion to cancel the swearing in ceremony which happened last Saturday, December 27, 2021 over a pending High Court Injunction filed by President elect Prince Asumadu.
“It took to our utmost shock when the Ag. SRC President, despite management caution to him in his bid to swear in new executives pending the interlocutory and mandatory injunction secured by the SRC President-Elect Mr. Prince Asumadu prohibiting the Swearing in of any person apart from him as the SRC President, Ag. SRC President still went ahead to swear in executives which had the losing candidate being sworn in as President of the SRC”, POSSA stated in a release
POSSA has indicated that the association is ready to use any legitimate means to protect the right of their members.
“It is important to note that, the Political Science Students Association will go every length it has to take legally to demand for the right of our members who might have been affected by this high level of unconstitutionality.”, they added
