UTAG Declares A Nationwide Strike Starting Monday, January 10th

The University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) have declared a nationwide strike untill further notice.

The strike will begin on Monday, 10th January, 2021 after an emergency meeting by the association.

UTAG and government have failed to finalize a favorable working condition for both parties.

In a release sighted by Ghanaontheglobe.com dated January 8, 2021, the association has revealed that through an executive meeting by the National Executive Committee (NEC) of UTAG on Tuesday, January 4, 2021 they’ve agreed to engage in a strike.

According to UTAG their employer has failed to address the plight if members leading to this unfortunate action.

UTAG encouraged it members across all the fifteen (15) public Universities to adhere to the directive.

The release was signed by the National President, Professor Solomon Nunoo.
