Ghana’s international rap sensation, Michael Owusu Addo known in the showbiz circles as Sarkodie has shutdown Memphis.
20 years ago if somebody had predicted that Ghana music was going to break all odds and barriers to sell far away in a purely white dominated city in Memphis in United States of America many would have disagreed and yes it has happened.
Sarkodie has shutdown Memphis, Tennessee with his incredible performance at the Beale Street Music Festival 2022 winning the hearts of many white folks amidst cheerful applauds.
According to Ghanaontheglobe.com report, the first ever BET Hip-Hop awards ‘’Best International Flow’’ winner, Sarkodie once again has proved that language is definitely not a barrier in music as he postulated a very incredible performance which saw the white folks chanting for more.
Sarkodie indicated that even though that was his first time in Memphis, he really loved the vibe and the super hyped feedback from the fans and he promised to bring his tour to Memphis when it commence.
This years edition of the event is a three day music festival which started on 29th April to 1st May which saw some big artistes like Lil Wayne, Megan Thee Stallion, Weezer, Dababy, Sarkodie, Stonebwoy and other powerful names billed on the performance list.
Sarkodie’s incredible performance was on 30th April which saw him re-highlight his name as one of the leaders selling the Afrobeatz and the African rap culture to the world.
The Beale Street Music Festival is held at the Fairgrounds in the Liberty Park in Midtown due to the construction at the Tom lee Park.
Sarkodie and Stonebwoy where the only Ghanaian artiste billed to perform at this years event. Big congratulation to Sarkodie and his team for shutting down Memphis.
