Highlife/hiplife artist Martin King Arthur popularly known as Kofi Kinaata is a Ghanaian musician and songwriter from Takoradi. On winning multiple awards at the just ended VGMA, Kofi Kinaata visited Chief Nana Kobina Nketia V and showcased his award at his palace at Essikado in the Western Region.
At the VGMA ,Kofi Kinaata won the Highlife Song of the year, Most Popular Song of the year and Songwriter of the year, making him the Artiste to have won the highest number of awards and first artist to have won songwriter of the year on three occasions.
At the palace he stated that “I have been to this palace once and I received a lot of counsel from Nana. I don’t think I even exhausted the countless number of wise counsel I received from Nana. This visit is to bring the results of the counsel from Nana at the beginning of my career. So I am here to show the awards I won at the just ended VGMA to Nana”.
The chief also added,saying “Amongst the pictures at the Bisa Abrewa museum, you are the youngest person there. You’ve left a mark that is remarkable that’s why your picture is there.These Awards are not for you alone. It’s for all of us in Western Region. We are very happy and proud of you. May God bless you and continue to bless you now and forever.”
