Leader of NKZ music, Guru has lamented on how he has been treated by some industry colleagues. Speaking on Zylofon 102.1’s Showbaz Agenda with Sammy Flex, the Lapas Toyota hit maker expressed how Kwami Eugene and Kidi refused to drop a verse on a track he sent to them a year ago.
Gurus added that he believed the problem comes from their manager. He talked about the recent Vodafone Ghana music awards which saw Kuami Eugene won ‘Artiste oof the year’ over Sarkodie. Guru added that the only way Ghana can compete with the Nigerians is when we come together.
Maradona Yeboah Adjei (born May 7, 1987), known by his stage names Guru and Gurunkz, is a Ghanaian rapper and fashion designer. Guru is one of the most successful hiplife artist in Ghana.
He is known for his contemporary hiplife rap style that combines English and Ghanaian indigenous languages. Guru’s breakthrough was in 2011 when his hit song “Lapaz Toyota” appeared on the Ghanaian music charts Guru’s is considered a contemporary hiplife artist, as his songs venture new ground in the Ghanaian music scene mixing hip-hop, afrobeats, highlife and dancehall sounds.
